Turkeys Hatched, the Go Kart Is Complete and More! Week 22 2018

After doing some thinking we decided our turkey poults would be better off being raised by their mama. So now they’re all back together once again.

Dylan got the go kart finished so we test it out. Also, a turkey update…. did the egg hatch?

The garden has become a weedy disaster so now it’s time to change up my plan.

We checked on our turkey hen and her poults and we found a surprise!

Our turkeys are finally here and now we have more turkeys than we know what to do with.

Turkeys Are About To Hatch, Easy DIY Goat Shelter, Companion Planting and More! Week 21 2018

Turkey hen has shifted and is sitting differently on her nest… maybe her eggs are hatching!

Our turkey hen is diligently setting on her nest. Are there any signs they’ll be hatching soon?

There has been a couple of things that I’ve been wanting to get done for a while… so today is the day to get them done!

We’re moving our buck to a bigger pasture. He needed a shelter so we made an easy, cheap temporary shelter for him… nothing too fancy.

We had a busy day with lots of places to go. One of the things we did was go to the Sunflower Hot Air festival in Anthony, Ks in hopes of watching them fly hot air balloons.

Just getting some planting done and trying to plant according to what grows best together.

Finally, We Got Rain! We’re Harvesting Beans and More! Week 38

The hard work of planting our fall beans has paid off and we have lots of beans to pick!

Finally! We have rain headed our way, which is awesome because we really need it. Our mission is to get chores done and get back to the house before it rains….will we make it?

Got a late on the day so the kids started chores while I got lunch going. In the afternoon the kids detail Dylan’s car and Brooke gives some tips on getting rid of tough dirt spots on vinyl.

Our Hay is Baled, Staking Tomatoes, Determined Hen and More! Week 24 2017

They showed up to bale our alfalfa. A storm was threatening to roll through so we scrambled to get it all picked up before it rained.

Oh what a windy day!! I’m starting to let Ollie out so that he can run in the pasture with the goats. I’ve been trying to decide how I want to stake my tomatoes, so I’ve started a few but I don’t like how it’s turning out. I’ve came up with a different idea since I made this video… will show in a new video coming soon.

A hen who insists on laying her egg in the barn, and me, who insists she can find another spot to lay… who will win??

We made it back from our little gambling trip. Didn’t win big… at least money wise… but we won big other ways which are things money can’t buy, like spending time together, relaxing, making memories, and… trying to overcome fears of pool drains. I know… weird… but the fear is real, let me tell ya!

Cozy Fire and Scary Coyotes

We started out the day with the usual chores. Milking is quickly coming to an end for the year as we dry up the goat. I’m looking forward to having a break from milking but we sure are going to miss the good milk.
We found that a couple of our chicken’s nails grew long so we caught them and trimmed them up. The day ended with a relaxing fire and star gazing… until the coyotes started howling… then the relaxation was over.
