2nd Week of Vlogmas On the Homestead! Week 50 2018

Christmas is sneaking up on us fast! So much to do and so little time! Dylan came out and brought his gifts, so Miley and Brooke try to figure out what he got them.

The kids check the rabbits to see if they can tell if they are pregnant and we check the goats to see if we can tell if they’re close to kidding. What do we think? Well, you’ll just have to watch…

Join us while we decorate gingerbread houses!

Why do I have 2 pitchforks that I’m using? I don’t really have an answer to that, but one thing we know for sure is that no pitchfork goes unused.

It’s one of those days, ya know, the kind where you start out behind and are rushing the whole day.

In this video we show you how we build an easy, affordable hay feeder that would work for goats, sheep or calves.

We gave the goats an early Christmas present and built a little goat hut for the goat kids to stay warm in once they are born. What did we give the goats for Christmas? Well.. you’ll just have to watch…

Simple Joys Of Snow and A Lost Cat Is Found! Week 48 2018

A missing cat, pregnant goats, a snowball fight… it’s another day on the homestead but this time it’s hard to be happy when a special pet goes missing. Luckily it ends happily so you’ll want to stick around to the end because you won’t want to miss this emotion filled reunion.

Just all of the simple joys playing in the snow with your big brother can bring.

Just a little walk a round the homestead to capture some of the beauty on this cold, blustery winter day.

Rain, Rain, Rain and More Rain! Week 42 2018

When it rains it pours… quite literally and figuratively! It was one of THOSE days on the homestead!

It’s a cold rainy day.. you know, the kind that’s best just to sleep away, and that’s just what I did! The kids grabbed the camera and had a little fun while I slept…

It’s a cold rainy day on the homestead! We’re trying to get as many tomatoes harvested and in the house before the rain starts. Since it ended up raining most of the day we decided soup sounded good for supper… so I just threw some random ingredients, with as many homegrown things as I could find, into a pot. Good or bad? Well, you’ll have to watch..

A Calf That Misses His Milk, A Long Day of Cooking, It Was a Week Full of Silliness! Week 32

Just a morning filled with chores and animal silliness!

We like to take time to make quick and easy things to grab and go, like hot pockets and burritos. That way during busy times we have things to eat when we don’t have time to cook. We spent 12 hours straight cooking… by the end of the day we were pretty delirious.

So…I’ve been pondering if I should plant okra, more green beans and some yellow summer squash. It might be too late… but yet there might still be plenty of time for it to grow….

Lots To Do But There’s Always Time For a Walk With the Goat

It’s the time of the year when the work outside dies down but there’s still plenty of work to be done in the house to get it in shape for the upcoming holidays. We made a day of it cleaning house and shampooing carpets. Of course all work and no play makes for a dull, boring day so we made time for a walk with the goat.
