Preserving Eggs For Winter, Growing Potatoes In Laundry Baskets, I Feel Like I Won the Lottery & More! Week 31

We’ve been busy all week at the fair, so I decided I’d give you a little update about what’s been going on. We’re going to be going out of town for one more night then we’ll be back on the homestead. We’ve got lots to tell you about and lots of stuff to be done!! We’ll be getting back to our normal routine here on the homestead so be sure to check back for upcoming videos.

My mom has a very beautiful container garden. This year she experimented with growing potatoes in laundry baskets. How did this experiment work out? Well… you’ll just have to watch and see….

Since we have such an abundance of eggs right now I decided to see if I could preserve them for this winter when our hens quit laying.

Hi Shelly! I am so intrigued by preserving eggs. I have never heard of that and I will be interested to know how it turns out.

I hadn’t heard of it either until I recently saw a video of someone trying it. I decided I really need to try it, especially after last winter when we went several months without any eggs. I’m also very curious how it will work. I keep smelling the bucket and so far there isn’t any fowl odors. Keeping my figures crossed it works!
