A Snake or A Mouse? Sad Day On the Homestead, New Turkey Poults Hatched and More! Week 32

RIP Neville, the homestead won’t be the same without you. You’ll always be forever in our hearts.

Two turkey poults hatched on one of the busiest days right before the fair. There are still lots of eggs left on the nest that need to be saved, but first we need to take Miley to the 4h pet show. Once back, we need to round up projects, warm up the incubator, candle the eggs, practice showing the pig, make final choices on which chickens to take… as we say, never a dull moment on the homestead!

Here’s a little update on how the chicken that I canned with the Carey Smart Canner turned out. Along with the update, I also show you our favorite recipe to use the canned chicken in.

It’s going to be SO hot and we’re trying to quickly get chores done before the heat of the day arrives. One problem… there’s something in the feed room and Brooke needs help figuring out what it is…. as she always says.. never a dull moment on the homestead.
