So much to do to get ready for Christmas… so little time… and what little time I have I procrastinate.
Brooke brought home something very weird, but interesting for us to try… sure didn’t look edible to us! We finished up baking and decorating our Christmas cookies… one step closer to being ready for Christmas!
Today we’re baking Christmas cookies! First, we need to get our chores done… and all Ollie wants to do is dilly dally.
Here’s how to pressure can chicken broth with the Carey Smart Canner!
Join us for an evening of fun while we make candy and almost burn the house down. 😀
It’s so dry here, so I decided to run the water on the garden in hopes it will help the leaves break down faster. Hopefully I can remember to shut it off and not leave it running all night like I did a while back…
Have you been wondering what kind of birds are singing in the background of some of our videos? We got a request to show them in a video sometime so we decided to do a short video on them. Of course when I got the camera out, they were quiet and unsure of the camera.. but any other time I get it out and they start singing and making all sorts of commotion!
We brought some of our bunnies inside to clean their back ends because they had poop stuck to them. Nothing serious, we’ve been feeding them too many pellets and need to give more hay instead. While they were in, we just had to enjoy the cuteness, especially those chubby little bunny faces.
Yep.. crazy is the word on the homestead.
Join us for a live chat as we make gingerbread houses!
Once we got our huge load of leaves unloaded, we went back to town and got a 2nd load!
So we crammed that trailer full of leaves…. I think we’re finally getting somewhere!
I originally had plans to make tomato sauce out of the last of the tomatoes and get it canned. Plans got changed, so I didn’t get the sauce made… but it wasn’t all bad because we ended up finding not one but TWO loads of leaves!
Our chickens quit laying and have turned into a bunch of freeloading slackers. I’m going to start giving them soaked grains and change their feed in hopes they will start laying again. Cuteness alert: the bunnies are up and running around!
We’re having the most beautiful weather, so we’re taking advantage of it and getting our garden prepared for winter.
It’s another windy day on the homestead which makes doing chores more challenging and shutting pickup doors almost impossible!
A pitchfork needle in the haystack… chores… unloading a big load of leaves… and Christmas at the park… it was a busy yet fun day on the homestead!
We’re gathering as many bags of leaves as we can find so that we can mulch every inch of our garden.
I’m wanting to get my garden completely mulched before winter. With the leaves falling I thought it would be a good time to start gathering as much as I can. To get enough is proving to be a lot harder than it seems.
